Celebrating Matariki

Matariki is Aotearoa’s very own celebration of the start of a

New Year.

Traditionally, Matariki is a time to remember those who have died in the last year, but it also a happy event – crops harvested, seafood and birds had been collected, with plenty of food in the storehouses. Matariki is a time for singing, dancing feasting. and remembering. It is a time to plan for the year ahead.

Matariki is a star cluster, as we remember those who have passed on we welcome new life, new opportunities and greater properity by the efforts of our hard work.

Naumai Matariki !!!
